Being retired is a pretty good job. The wages aren’t nearly as good as when I worked but I sure do like the hours. Since we retired we have a chance to see a lot of things that we wouldn’t otherwise see. Sally likes to look at birds and I like to look at almost everything. Sometimes what I see makes me wonder.
I once knew a guy that had a handicapped decal like this on a little Nissan truck. I would meet him at the golf course. He would drive there and park in one of the handicapped spaces close to the club house. He didn’t want to make the long arduous walk to tee off. From there we would play 18 holes of golf and he would make the short walk to his truck. Sometimes he would drive me to my car from there. He had undergone bypass surgery and so far as I know was in pretty good shape. His golf game certainly made it appear so. When he went to work the decal went in the glove box. When he went to a crowded parking lot it hung again on the mirror. That was over 20 years ago and I think he is still alive.

I spotted this vehicle while Sally was in Walmart. It had a handicapped sticker, some tires that looked like it could spend some time off road all while having some official looking lights that made it look like the truck of an off duty fireman. They sure didn’t have a handicapped appearance but they were in a designated spot while others walked. I wanted to see the drivers.

When they came to the truck the driver and passenger looked anything but handicapped. Perhaps they had it for their Grandma. If so, she was supposed to be in the truck to use this space. Who knows? Nice enough truck.
