Anahuac Birds 8/1/16
The first of August may not mean much to you, and that's ok. For Sally and I it is a day to celebrate. It is our anniversary and this year marks 18 years. We don't normally do too much out of the way for our anniversary but we do try to do something. This year we decided to drive about 100 miles south and see what signs of bird life we could drum up. There were enough birds that we resolved to get a better camera. Our photos do not do justice to the place.

This wildlife refuge is just east of Galveston Island adjacent to the bolivar peninsula and a bit west of the Louisiana border. We did not see any gators this time but the gators probably saw us.
