I felt compelled to publish this today because of some comments made on facebook. Marcus was going on about the hard working government employees that we have in Texas. It is only a couple weeks ago that I ran across this scene. Actually I missed the picture of the first scene which was probably more typical. One man was working and two were watching. When I came back through again, this was the scene.

We have lived here in Grangerland for about 15 years. Before we moved to our home the reputation of the area was somewhat unsavory. I don't think we cleaned it up much. But just having residents who were not involved in the night scenes at the "hole in the wall" bar probably helped. Quite a few new people moved in. I am sure the old timers must have thought "there goes the neighborhood".
I am starting to know how they felt. There were two flashing lights at the two main intersections in grangerland. I understood why the first one was replaced with a stoplight. Traffic was pretty heavy and it became dangerous. Now this. There goes the neighborhood.

The lights laying on the ground are evidence of what is to come. Now this intersection has had some wrecks. That isn't because the intersection is inherently dangerous. It's because it was placed by a high school. The green roof in the background is Caney Creek High School. I don't care how an intersection is constructed it will be dangerous if you put it by a high school. The only safety factor that would help much is a full time officer with a ticket book.

Well here it is. All finished except for turning on the power. If this keeps up we will probably have to stop having the neighborhood goat ropings and year round firecrackers. Liable to drive a couple small businesses out. That would be the ones centered around distillation of spirits.
