With Family in Florida

There are a lot of reasons to take a trip. We took a trip to Canada last year for Sally's seventieth birthday. This year we went to Florida for several reasons. Three of those reasons are in this picture.

Our daughter Lettie is in the background and our granddaughters (cousins not sisters) Alex and Jessica are standing here.

Alex has just graduated from cosmetology school and Jessica is tearing it up in high school.

Picture
This is Trent. While others were whining about not being able to find a Job, Trent had two. Now he works full time at this restaurant.

We are proud of them all.

Picture
Well sometimes Trent is less industrious than others.

Sally just had another birthday. She had been wanting to make a Florida trip since Kevin and Lettie moved. She had made some plans to go but nothing seemed to work. This time I took her as a birthday present.

Anyway, the first day was over 700 miles and
about 350 on the second day finished it.

We had no clue this was coming. Our water pipes at home froze two consecutive nights. If Rosa and Kelly hadn't been there and reassuring us, we would be a bundle of bad nerves right now. Melborne set a low temp record while we were visiting. I don't know if Conroe set any records or not.

Picture
Kevin took us to a state park. As usual Sally found a geocache on her phone. We were right at the place it indicated but there was no cache.

Kevin jumped off the bridge and found it underneath.

Picture
I could have done that but had a much more important job. Who else was going to carry the binoculars.

Since Sally was busy taking pictures she couldn't be in the story.

Picture
Lettie was a great tour guide. Who else will tote you all over the place in a new Prius.

I cannot say that I know where we were but Merritt Island and Cocoa beach were two places we went.

Thanks Lettie.

Picture
In Texas we get used to metal cutouts of cowboys and horses. In Florida it appears that it might be a statue of a Manatee with a mailbox for a mouth.

Picture
Thanks for the heavy duty load of hospitality.

We have no intentions of making this our last visit.
