We decided to do something different for our Christmas decorations this year. Actually I had to because Sally put her foot down. Seems some of the kids tripped over them during the fourth of July family picnic. It was only the younger ones but someone had gotten upset so naturally it was my fault.
I was going to get around to it I had just been busy. She said she wanted something that was easier to stow away and break out again next year. She didn’t want to use the storage space and she quoted someone named Foxworthy about costing $1200 to store $50 worth of junk.
You may want to learn from my experiences and avoid the heartbreak of confrontations with local government (and spouses). I doubt you will be able to take advantage of the whole motif of my design but there are some practical considerations that would apply to anyone.

Old folks are so out of date but the youngsters put them right. The young ones thought the burst of light came from the refinery about five miles west of town on beautiful FM3083. Sometimes they seem to burn more at night. Something about government employees and the EPA not working so late.

Anyway, it didn’t take long until the place was clogged with tourists every night and we got tired of that.
When the city fathers came and asked us to cut down on power consumption Sally made me cut back to three trees. We didn’t kill a bunch of baby pines and a closer look will show you that we used technology to make something we didn’t have to store during the summer.

As you can see the tree is a metal wire tomato stand. We pinched the legs together and held them with a zip tie. The barrel is what we used for container gardening and we just put the stand upside down and held them with bricks. During the other ten months of the year we intend to plant tomatoes in them.
I wish I had thought to get pictures of the tourists. It was pretty funny when some of them got stuck in the driveway. However, I am pretty sure my mom would not have approved of some of their language.
