Jeep Comanche

I don't know much about this type truck. When I was a youngster Jeep had something they called a Gladiator and you can find pictures of one doing dumpster duty in this section of this blog. It is what one would call a full size truck. I am pretty sure I was away in the Navy when this truck was being sold. Jeep doesn't make a truck now and that's a shame.
Picture
When Chrysler bought AMC and Jeep they quit making this pretty quickly and any plans there might have been to bring back the Gladiator were scuttled. There were the sales of the full size Ram and the Dakota to think about. The Dakota is gone now and this truck looks sweet. Are you listening Fiatsler?

Can't see much wrong with it.

If I had to place a bet, most of these used the 4.0 six that started life in 1964 as a 232 CID (4.1) liter inline six with seven main bearings.  It was replaced by a 258 and now most of them are running around as 4.0s. Not much wrong with it and I think the simplicity and smoothness of the engine is great.
Picture
Unless you are a gearhead that doesn't matter very much.

What does matter is that someone is taking care of it and getting that last mile.
