This is Kiwi on your left and Skittles on your right. They are two Eclectus parrots who are probably just teens in parrot terms.
They have come a long way since we first saw them. That was just before Christmas 14 months ago. They hatched around November of 2012.
Sometimes I forget how they looked when we first saw them.

This helps me remember. This little critter looks just like Kiwi and Skittles did. Right now we are looking after three of them. Today we had some help.

Sometimes Mama has to reheat the gruel before she can continue feeding. There is a specific temperature range she has to maintain. One supposes that is roughly the temp that parrots would regurgitate. Without help, one of these little critters would be happy to walk off the table.

We have four youngsters in our neighborhood who fall into the basic Pre-teen age category (6-12). They like to come to our house and I doubt it's completely because of us. With all our critters we probably represent a petting zoo to the kids.
These are the guys who found our eggs when we were frozen in. Their imaginations were captured by the baby parrots.

These Parrots look like baby buzzards when they first hatch. In fairness, I have never seen a pretty baby bird.
They get real pretty but not till they are about ready to fly. Baby ducks are probably pretty quicker than anything else I can think of. Mama disagrees. She thinks the ducks are pretty from the first. Probably she is right. You can decide for yourself. Click over to the Muscovey Chronicles.
I would expect the pet shops keep them under wraps at this age because nobody would be impressed. They sure get pretty later.

"Yes, I am a certified Parrot baby sitter."

Just like two peas in a pod. These two are about ready for cuddling duty.

When Mama is feeding Papa gets the cuddling duties. Papa certainly has the best of it. Anything you can do with one hand you can do while cuddling baby birds.
We won't have them next week but this is a lot of fun while it lasts. Sally displays a lot of love and expertise when dealing with any baby.
Kiwi and Skittles paid a lot of attention to the computer when I cuddled them. Skittles pecked the tab key loose. I learned my lesson there and am pretty careful now.
I expect there will be more pictures later. We think we have two little girls and we are unsure what the third is just yet.
More pictures are coming but we will add them wherever they fit best. Please enjoy.
